BRATISLAVA 21. júla (SITA) - Americká speváčka Katy Perry vedie v nomináciách na MTV Video Music Awards, keď je nominovaná dovedna deväťkrát. Manželka britského komika Russella Branda môže uspieť v kategóriách Najlepší videoklip, Najlepší videoklip interpretky, Najlepší popový videoklip, Najlepšia spolupráca, Najlepšia výprava, Najlepšia kamera, Najlepšia réžia, Najlepší strih a Najlepšie špeciálne efekty. Dvadsaťšesťročná Katy Perry sa o ceny uchádza s videoklipmi ku skladbám Firework, Teenage Dream, E.T. (feat. Kanye West) a Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).


Anglická speváčka Adele je nominovaná sedemkrát a to vždy s videoklipom k medzinárodnému hitu Rolling in the Deep, ktorý pochádza z jej mimoriadne úspešného albumu 21 (2011). Sedem šancí na zisk ocenenie má aj rapper Kanye West. Ten je nominovaný za pieseň E.T. s Katy Perry a tiež za skladby All of the Lights a Power. V najprestížnejšej kategórii Videoklip roka sa okrem Adele (Rolling in the Deep) a Katy Perry (Firework) o cenu uchádzajú aj Beastie Boys (Make Some Noise), Bruno Mars (Grenade) a Tyler, The Creator (Yonkers). Ďalšími nominovanými interpretmi sú napríklad Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Eminem, Rihanna, ale i mladá rapperka Kreayshawn. Tá je nominovaná za videoklip Gucci Gucci, no známa je aj tým, že režírovala dosiaľ nezverejnený videoklip skupiny Red Hot Chili Peppers k singlu The Adventures of Raindance Maggie. Slávnostné odovzdávanie MTV Video Music Awards v štrnástich kategóriách sa bude konať 28. augusta v losangeleskom Nokia Theatre.
